Writing Tips

  • Answer all parts of the question
  • Plan your time
  • Plan your structure before you start writing
  • Start each paragraph with a topic sentence
  • Use synonyms rather than repeating words
  • Paraphrase if you can't think of a synonym

 Read a task and analyse what is required

 Give both side of an argument if necessary

 Consider expressions for likes and dislikes

 Plan your paragraph structure

 Consider expressions for talking about frequency

 Include an overarching statement

 Practise beginning and ending letters

 keep it simple and stay on topic

 Read a tak and find mistakes in a sample answer

 Review your work at the end if you have time

  Don't use memorised text
